Finally! Let’s add the first desktop pool to our environment. This is the easiest part of the whole series (if you followed the proper configurations, notes, and pieces of advice). This is the part 12 out of 12 of the VDI-LAB 2018 series.

It is time to create and optimize the golden image that we will use to deploy all our desktops. The primary purpose of this golden image is to run a basic test with the Login VSI benchmark tool, so I will optimize a Windows 10 VM to get the best performance (low latency) and user experience (low applications response times). It could be used as an essential guide for any deployments with Horizon View.

We need to create a signed certificate for Horizon 7 connection server. First thing is installing in our Domain Controller the Certificate Service role, then configure the certificates template and finally, apply this certificate to the Horizon Connection Server

In this part, we are going to install Horizon 7 connection server and then configure View Administrator, that is the web-based platform to perform all desktops operations. This is the part 9 out of 12 of the VDI-LAB 2018 series. Check out the introduction first.

In this part, we are going to install VMware Horizon Composer. First, we need to prepare the server before the installation, adding the Composer user created on the domain controller, applying user rights and preparing SQL Server native client (For this configuration we are going to use same steps in part 7 of this series). Then, we can proceed with the Horizon Composer installation.

In this part, we are going to install and configure vCenter server 6.5 (Windows-based). First, we need to prepare the server before the installation, adding the vCenter user created on the domain controller, applying user rights and preparing SQL Server native client. Then, we can proceed with the vCenter installation and initial configuration.

In this part, we are going to install and configure SQL server 2017, then create the databases for vCenter server, View Composer and View Events. Also, important configurations will be made in order to add this user later on to a View Connection server. This is the part 6 out of 12 of the VDI-LAB 2018 series. Check out the introduction first.
