Problem:
Trying to install Windows Server 2019 (or another version) in WMware Workstation 15, I am facing the following error.
“Windows cannot find the Microsoft Software License Terms. Make sure the installation sources are valid and restart the installation.”

Note: I am planning to use the trial version. I don’t have the license.
I am configuring 2GB of memory in this VM, and I know that memory is not the problem.
Solution:
While creating the VM, under the Guest Operating System Installation part, select I will install the operating system later. Instead of selecting Installer disk image file (iso) and browsing for the ISO.

After the creation of the VM, select the VM from the Library and click on Edit virtual machine settings.

Under the hardware tab, select CD/DVD. Now select Use ISO image file, browse for your ISO and click OK.

Power on the VM. Now the Windows installation will get going without issues.
When I attempt to load Windows Server 2016 this way, I get an EFI timeout and have to close the VM.
That worked! Thank you!
Worked for me… saved a lot of time and frustration .. thank you
